Promises Unfulfilled

ETFO’s new position paper, Promises Unfulfilled: Addressing the Special Education Crisis in Ontario, serves as a renewed call to action to finally address the shortcomings of a system that is failing children with disabilities in Ontario.

The campaign was targeted towards Ontario Ministry of Education to adopt recommendations by ETFO so that schools are not merely accessible, but welcoming and inclusive for children with disabilities.

  • For decades, ETFO has advocated for Ontario’s public education system to mandate and fully fund the supports and programs necessary to ensure a high-quality education that recognizes the diverse needs and abilities of all children, including those with disabilities. This campaign brings into light all the data and proof where the system is lacking and provides recommendations for the Ministry to adopt.
